Daily Beast reporter Besty Woodruff pointed out two major changes to the story they reported earlier claiming that Paul Manafort met with Julian Assange before the DNC email leak.
The Guardian has weakened some of the language in their Manafort/Assange story: https://t.co/QbgnvpHNiX pic.twitter.com/bgm8fvQGxF

If you are having trouble reading the screenshots here is a slight transcript from Twitchy.
The Guardian added “sources say” to its headline about Manafort holding secret talks with Assange. It also changed, “It is unclear why Manafort wanted to see Assange” to “would have wanted to see Assange,” and changed “the last meeting” to “the last apparent meeting.”
The fact The Guardian made this change at all shows you they are beginning to walk this story back. No paper would change wording like this after the fact if they weren’t in the beginning stages of damage control regarding this story.
