According to Jeremey Peters of The New York Times, Steve Bannon is stepping down from Breitbart.

Charlie Spiering, White House Correspondent for Breitbart confirmed this.

Former Breitbart report Chuck Johnson took a shot as well

From Breitbart:

Bannon said, “I’m proud of what the Breitbart team has accomplished in so short a period of time in building out a world-class news platform.”

According to Breitbart CEO Larry Solov, “Steve is a valued part of our legacy, and we will always be grateful for his contributions, and what he has helped us to accomplish.”

Jake Tapper also reported on it:

No one is surprised by this. Bannon played his hand and thought he would be able to take over the Trump movement. When he failed he lost his donors and now has been shown the door at Breitbart.
