Ukrainian President calls Dem led impeachment a soap opera

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called the failed Democrat impeachment effort a soap opera in an interview with CNN.

Federalist:

In a wide-ranging interview with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky referred to the impeachment of President Donald Trump as a television series, specifically citing the soap operas “Santa Barbara” and “Dallas.” Throwing cold water on what Democrats alleged to be a pressure campaign on Zelensky and his government, the Ukrainian president also said he looks forward to his next conversation with Trump and hopes to visit the White House.

Zelensky did bristle when asked about corruption in Ukraine, asking President Trump to stop referring to his country as one of the most corrupt in the world. But he did acknowledge that in the past, Ukraine has suffered under great government corruption. He promised his administration is changing that and operating openly and honestly.

The skeptics will say this is just politics. Obviously, the Ukrainian President will want to have President Trump on his good side so it isn’t shocking that he isn’t openly attacking Trump. However, if we look at what he is saying we simply should ask is this true? Was the Democrat impeachment a soap opera? The answer to that is, of course, it was. The entire thing was a show. No one cared about the truth. No one cared about what actually happened. Both sides knew how it was going to end. It was nothing more than a giant waste of time that further divided our country.
