Dozens of boaters took to the waters near the Statue of Liberty on Sunday to rally behind President Trump.
“It’s really showing President Trump that New York has his support, despite what the media tends to portray,” said one of the boaters, who only gave her first name, Cathy, to The Post.
Cathy was on a vessel that she and her group nicknamed “Team Deplorables,” a reference to onetime Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton calling Republican voters “a basket of deplorables” in her 2016 race against Trump.
The Trump supporters cruised with other vessels and jet skis bearing “Trump 2020” flags up the Hudson River from New York Harbor.
Don’t buy the polls. There is still strong support for President Trump. How many Presidents have had a strong base like this? How many Presidents have supporters willing to show support even if it risks their safety?
