Second Gentleman Evacuated After Bomb Threat

Second gentleman Doug Emhoff was evacuated from a school event in Washington DC after a bomb threat at the school.

Students and staff were also evacuated.

Second gentleman Doug Emhoff was evacuated by Secret Service agents from a school event Tuesday in Washington, D.C., due to an alleged bomb threat, The Associated Press reports.

Emhoff, husband to Vice President Kamala Harris, was at Dunbar High School for a Black History Month event. He had reportedly spent five minutes in the school’s museum before a security agent said to him, “we have to go.”

Emhoff went into his waiting motorcade outside and left.

Students and staff were told to leave the school as speakers said, “evacuate the building,” according to AP News. Students were dismissed for the day while law enforcement sweeps the building.
