The Weekly Standard is shutting its doors after 23 years due to the fact no one was willing it purchase it and keep it up and running.
Per source: The Weekly Standard is shutting down. No merger with the Washington Examiner.

Nothing to do with lack of interested buyers. FYI.

All good things come to an end. And so, after 23 years, does The Weekly Standard. I want to express my gratitude to our readers and my admiration for my colleagues. We worked hard to put out a quality magazine, and we had a good time doing so. And we have much more to do. Onward!

It’s official. The Weekly Standard will publish it’s last issue on Dec. 17 and close down.
A lot of good people are losing their jobs right before Christmas. Praying that they land on their feet.

Tonight, I will toast to the end of the Weekly Standard. In fact I’m gonna toast right now. And at lunch. And at Christmas parties tonight. Basically, fuck those guys. https://t.co/8VcWtYWJrx

I grew up always seeing copies of National Review and The Weekly Standard lying around my house. To my young conservative mind, they were the place to go to figure out what the Right was thinking. Hard to see TWS go down. Hoping its superb writers land on their feet.

How do we save the Weekly Standard? Go to war!
