Only 700 guns have been turned in after New Zealand gun ban

Only 700 of an estimated 1.5 million guns have been turned in after Jacinda Ardern decided to ban all guns after a horrific mass shooting.

As of last week, only around 700 weapons had been turned over. There are an estimated 1.5 million guns—with an unknown number subject to the new prohibitionon semiautomatic firearms—in the country overall.

Traditionally relaxed in its approach to firearms regulation, and enjoying a low crime rate, New Zealand has no firearms registration rule. That means authorities have no easy way of knowing what guns are in circulation or who owns them.

“These weapons are unlikely to be confiscated by police because they don’t know of their existence,” Philippa Yasbek of Gun Control NZ admitted. “These will become black-market weapons if their owners choose not to comply with the law and become criminals instead.”

After the shooting, NZ Prime Minister claimed that she didn’t understand why the US doesn’t just take everyone’s guns as well.

What she doesn’t want you to know is she is actually doing the bidding of the killer.

“I chose firearms for the affect it would have on social discourse,” the killer wrote in a document he released to explain his crimes. “The gun owners of New Zealand are a beaten, miserable bunch of baby boomers, who have long since given up the fight. When was the last time they won increased rights? Their loss was inevitable. I just accelerated things a bit.”

This should be condemned worldwide. For some reason they left can be as authoritarian as they want and the Media will praise them. The head of Gun Control NZ Philippa Yasbek admits that they just turned millions of law-abiding gun owners into criminals overnight.

It will be interesting to see what happens next. Will the police be going to houses and looking for these guns?

It is important to note that the lack of a gun registry is stopping the government from knowing who owns these guns and US gun rights supporters should take note of this.

It is clear that the Authoritarian Jacinda Arden failed and I hope the next Prime Minister will move to give gun rights back to millions of New Zeland gun owners.
