RNC Research Fact Checked the lies pushed by the Democrats during there Second Debate.

Trump’s Tax Cuts:

You just saw Joe Biden and Kamala Harris completely lie about President Trump’s middle-class tax cuts.

Bernie Sanders even promised to raise taxes on the middle class.

Reminder: Here’s how President Trump’s tax cuts benefitted the American people:

  •  82% of middle-class households received a tax cut, an average of $1,260.
  •  90% of Americans saw an increase in take-home pay.
  • In 2018, wages grew by the largest amount in a decade in 2018.
  • The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act doubled the Child Tax Credit, saving working families morethan $100 billion.
  • These tax cuts also resulted in 3.3% wage growth in 2018, the best in a decade while unemployment hit historic lows.

2020 Democrats have signed on to make private health insurance illegal

As we noted last night, the Democrats’ government takeover of health care would make private health insurance illegal whether the candidate raises their hand or not.  

From the text of Bernie Sanders’ bill which Elizabeth Warren, Kirsten Gillibrand, & Cory Booker have all co-sponsored:

SEC. 107. PROHIBITION AGAINST DUPLICATING COVERAGE.

(a) In General.—Beginning on the effective date described in section 106(a), it shall be unlawful for—

(1) a private health insurer to sell health insurance coverage that duplicates the benefits provided under this Act; or

(2) an employer to provide benefits for an employee, former employee, or the dependents of an employee or former employee that duplicate the benefits provided under this Act.

(b) Construction.—Nothing in this Act shall be construed as prohibiting the sale of health insurance coverage for any additional benefits not covered by this Act, including additional benefits that an employer may provide to employees or their dependents, or to former employees or their dependents.

The Washington Post even notes: “Section 107 would make it illegal for any private health insurer to sell coverage that duplicated benefits under the law or for any employer to duplicate the benefits… There is virtually nothing left on the table but a few crumbs.”

All 10 Candidates Support Giving Government-Run Health Care To Illegal Immigrants

Tonight, every single Democrat on stage endorsed taxpayer-funded health care for illegal immigrants.

It’s beyond extreme, and there’s no way the American people are going to support it.

RNC Fact Check: Democrats’ radical immigration views

While 2020 Democrats try and score political points over immigration, here are the facts:

  • The Trump admin has repeatedly asked Congressional Democrats to close loopholes(stemming from the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act and the Clinton era Flores agreement) in our immigration laws in order to save lives. 
  • The entire reason for the surge of smuggled children arriving on our Southern Border is because loopholes exist and cartels exploit them.  
  • While the Trump admin is trying to close the loopholes, Democrats have refused every single effort to shut down the magnets for child smuggling. 
  • If Democrats actually cared about the migrant children instead of using them for political purposes, they would close the loopholes.

This is a crisis of Democrats own making because they refused to recognize the crisis and they have refused to work with President Trump to fix it

RNC Fact Check: Manufacturing

You just saw 2020 Democrats try and criticize President Trump’s record on manufacturing.

But the contrast could not be more clear.

Under Barack Obama and Joe Biden, America lost 200,000 manufacturing jobs.

Since President Trump took office, America has GAINED nearly 500,000 manufacturing jobs.

Furthermore, it was just reported that in Q1 2019, the economy grew at 3.1% and since election day, President Trump’s pro-growth policies have generated 6 million jobs, the lowest unemployment rate since 1969, and 10 months of wage growth above 3%.

RNC Fact Check: Pete Buttigieg’s record in South Bend

You just heard Pete Buttigieg try to defend his tumultuous tenure in South Bend with regards to the South Bend police force and the black community.

Here’s a reminder of how Buttigieg has failed the black community in South Bend in an embarrassing fashion:

  • While Buttigieg is now calling for a more diverse police force in South Bend, the amount of black police officers in South Bend has decreased by 50% since 2014, all under Buttigieg’s watch. Making matters worse, all six of the new police cadets in South Bend’s most recent police class are white.
  • Buttigieg fired his first black police chief, Darryl Boykins, over controversially recorded tapes that may or may not contain white police officers making racist remarks.
  • South Bend has been ranked by USA Today as one of the worst cities to live in based on quality of life, citing a high number of violent crimes and a low average median home value.
  • A survey found that 65% of South Bend residents are dissatisfied with “the maintenance of city streets, sidewalks and infrastructure,” 51% don’t agree that they have “an overall feeling of safety in [their] neighborhood,” 64% disagree that “the city is a safe community for everyone,” 70% don’t agree “the city has vibrant, welcoming neighborhoods,” 71% don’t agree “the city has a strong, inclusive economy,” and 72% don’t agree “all residents are empowered with education, mobility & technology.”
  • South Bend had an uptick in violence in the first quarter of 2019, including 2 South Bend police-related shootings in two weeks, and a March 29 shooting while Buttigieg was with Hollywood hotshots before filming an episode of “Real Time with Bill Maher” in Los Angeles, just one day after speaking at an event in San Francisco. During this uptick in violence, Buttigieg was out of South Bend for nearly half of the days during that time.
  • A review of public records shows that out of 53 total community complaints against South Bend police officers, only 4 were ever investigated.
  • Buttigieg’s administration has seen a drop in diversity over the years.
  • Crime rates have risen since Buttigieg first took office in 2012, and countless members of the black community in South Bend have criticized Buttigieg’s poor performance record on the job.
  • Buttigieg grossly mishandled the most recent shooting in South Bend involving a police officer shooting black resident Erick Logan, in which he skipped the vigil at the scene of the shooting, sought advice from outsiders, and received heavy criticism from black leaders in the South Bend community. Even Chuck Todd acknowledged Buttigieg’s poor handling of the situation on Meet the Press.

This only scrapes the surface of the tumultuous tenure as mayor of South Bend, but no matter how Buttigieg tries to spin the situation, the evidence is clear: Buttigieg not only has a diversity issue on the campaign trail, he has failed the black community in his hometown of South Bend.

RNC Fact Check: Joe Biden’s Failure On Bin Laden Is The Rule Not The Exception

From the Bin Laden raid to China, Joe Biden “has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.”

The Facts:

BIDEN’S ADVICE TO NOT GO FORWARD ON THE OSAMA BIN LADEN RAID WAS A DEMONSTRATIVE EXAMPLE OF BIDEN’S HISTORY OF WRONG FOREIGN POLICY DECISIONS

As Vice President, Joe Biden advised President Barack Obama not to go forward with the raid that resulted in the death of 9/11 perpetrator, Osama Bin Laden.

Biden would later change his story , first by saying he told Obama to “follow his instincts” and then by saying he told Obama privately “he thought he should go.”

As Obama Defense Secretary Bob Gates puts it Biden “has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.”

BIDEN HAS CONSISTENTLY ADVOCATED FOR DANGEROUS, DESTABILIZING OR IMPLAUSIBLE FOREIGN POLICY STRATEGIES

Biden once pushed for a controversial plan to partition Iraq that the U.S. embassy in Baghdad said would ” produce extraordinary suffering and bloodshed .”

Following the September 11 attacks, Biden, on a whim, suggested the U.S. send Iran $200 million as a good faith gesture.

Biden was the Obama Administration’s ” public salesman ” for the flawed Iranian nuclear deal which has not eliminated Iran’s nuclear threat nor curbed itsdestabilizing behaviors .

Biden pushed for the Obama Administration’s disastrous Russia “reset ” policy and personally sought to cozy up to Vladimir Putin .

Biden supported the Obama Administration’s flawed Israel policy and was “particularly harsh ” to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Despite the threats posed by China to the United States, Biden has engaged in adovish approach to China stressing “they’re not competition” and they weren’t going to “eat our lunch.”

AS A DIPLOMAT ON THE WORLD STAGE, BIDEN HAS MADE MANY MISLEADING AND FALSE CLAIMS AND COMMITTED NUMEROUS DIPLOMATIC GAFFES

In 2007, Biden claimed he had been fired upon in Iraq and later backtracked saying while he did not have to duck and cover ” he was near where a shot landed .”

In 2008, Biden claimed his helicopter had been ” forced down ” by Al Qaeda but it was later revealed the helicopter had been forced to land due to snowy conditions .

Biden publicly said he was unaware of any security issue at the compound in Benghazi and seemed to not know the Administration had been implored to beef upsecurity at the consulate.

In 2011, Biden told Turkish President Abdullah Gul he didn’t think violence in Syria would become disruptive regionally ; By 2014, ISIS controlled territory from Central Syria to the outskirts of Baghdad, Iraq .

Biden had to backtrack after appearing to endorse China’s One Child Policy while on a trip to the country saying, ” your policy has been one which I fully understand “
