According to a Spanish Newspaper, McMaster claimed that Russia is trying to hack Mexican elections.

Reforma:

The United States has received initial signs that the Government of Russia is intervening in the campaigns towards the presidential election of Mexico, said General H.R. McMaster, National Security Adviser to the White House.

Noting that his goal is to polarize societies and provoke a crisis of confidence, President Donald Trump’s main foreign policy adviser assured that Russia’s interference can already be seen in the campaigns in Mexico although he did not give details.

“With Russia we are increasingly concerned about these sophisticated campaigns of subversion, misinformation and propaganda – the use of cyber tools to do so,” McMaster said at a Jamestown Foundation conference that had not been reported before.

“Within Europe, this has been seen more recently with the referendum for the independence of Catalonia in Spain, for example, and in fact, initial signs have already been seen in the Mexican presidential campaign,” added McMaster at the event on December 15. .

According to a video of the event, McMaster pointed out that there is a sophisticated effort to polarize democratic societies, confront communities and create crisis of trust.

The National Electoral Institute (INE) expressed concern about the existence of disinformation campaigns in social networks about the electoral process.

Now, I have no clue about the truth behind what McMaster is saying but I still find this hilarious. While the left continues to claim Trump colluded with Russia the facts continue to disprove it. If McMaster is telling the truth here then its clear Russia is just trying to do the exact same thing they did to the United States election. They simply tried to use propaganda and misinfo to divide the country not to elect one candidate. Our fake news mainstream media fell for it and helped Putin reach his goals.
