The Biden administration is planning to request the U.S. Supreme Court block the Texas abortion law.
Last week, a federal appeals court rejected the Biden administration’s efforts to stop the new law.
In response, the Biden administration is planning to take the case all the way to the Supreme Court, which could set a major precedent on abortion rights in the country.
“The Justice Department intends to ask the Supreme Court to vacate the Fifth Circuit’s stay of the preliminary injunction against Texas Senate Bill 8,†Anthony Coley, the Justice Department spokesman, said in a statement, per the New York Times.
