Weinstein’s Wife Is Leaving Him After Sexual Harassment Allegations Surface

Daily Caller logoHarvey Weinstein’s wife, fashion designer Georgina Chapman, has announced that she will be leaving Weinstein amid sexual harassment and assault allegations.

Weinstein and Chapman, who designs clothing for Marchesa, have been married since 2007 and have two children together, a 7-year-old and a 4-year-old.

“My heart breaks for all the women who have suffered tremendous pain because of these unforgivable actions,” Chapman said in a statement to People. “I have chosen to leave my husband. Caring for my young children is my first priority and I ask the media for privacy at this time.”

When the first allegations of assault came out in a report by The New York Times last week, Weinstein claimed that his wife would be “100 percent with” him and that he would be having “tough conversations” with his family to convince them he could be better.

Eight women came out against Weinstein in the NYT and he has also apparently reached financial settlements with at least eight accusers. Another report by The New Yorker on Tuesday told the story of over a dozen accusers, including several who claimed Weinstein assaulted or raped them. Major movie stars Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow later added themselves to the long list of women who claim to have been harassed.
