Nestor Shufrych, a member of the Ukrainian parliament, was attacked by a journalist for refusing to condemn Putin.
A pro-Russian politician and a journalist came to blows on live TV after the parliament member refused to speak ill of Vladimir Putin.
The altercation began when Nestor Shufrych, a member of Ukrainian parliament and the pro-Russian party Opposition Platform – For Life, was asked to comment about Putin on Savik Shuster’s “Freedom of Speech.â€
Shufrych’s failure to condemn Putin infuriated journalist Yuriy Butusov to the point that he crossed the room and slapped Shufrych across his face knocking the politician off his chair. After that, there was a quick exchange of jabs where the pair squared up like hockey players before Butusov briefly put Shufrych in a headlock.
It wasn’t until the two had fallen to the ground and began exchanging close punches to one another that onlookers stepped in to break up the fight. Those onlookers included former Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk and former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
