Two GOP Senators have called on Attorney General Barr to investigate Nancy Pelosi over her ripping up her copy of President Trump’s State Of The Union.

Two House GOP leaders have officially called on Attorney General William Barr to determine whether House Speaker Nancy Pelosi broke federal law when she ripped up President Trump’s State of the Union speech earlier this year.
Pelosi famously tore the speech at the conclusion of Trump’s February address in the House chamber “because it was the courteous thing to do considering the alternatives,” Pelosi said at the time. “I tore it up. I was trying to find one page with truth on it. I couldn’t.”
Republican Policy Committee Chairman Gary Palmer, R-Ala., and Republican Study Committee Chairman Mike Johnson, R-La., wrote a letter to Barr on Tuesday asking he deliver a definitive answer on whether “Pelosi committed a criminal act by destroying an official copy of the State of the Union speech delivered to her” by Trump.
The calls come as Pelosi is being slammed for getting her hair done at a California hair salon that has been closed due to coronavirus restrictions.
“Nancy Pelosi’s famous tantrum on the House floor was more than disgraceful; she violated her responsibility to preserve official documents delivered to the House of Representatives,” Palmer said in a statement. “We ask the Attorney General to review this scandalous outburst, not simply because it offended every American, but because it set a precedent for radical politicians to hijack state events for partisan performance art and possibly break the law with, thus far, no consequence.”
The GOP lawmakers believe Pelosi could have violated 18 U.S.C. § 2071 which deals with the mutilation of official federal records and sets a criminal penalty of destroying documents of up to three years in prison.

Does Nancy Pelosi really think that this is what Americans want?
A caller from Pennsylvania told CSPAN that he thinks Pelosi sealed President Trump winning in 2020 when she ripped up her copy of the State of the Union speech.

This caller didn’t even seem like a Trump voter. From the way, he was talking he seemed like someone who was likely an independent yet even he saw how terrible Pelosi looked.
According to GOP Establishment Pollster Frank Luntz, two people in his Focus are now voting for Trump after listening to his State of the Union.

According to a Fact Check from AP legal experts claim this wasn’t illegal:
Legal experts say no laws were broken. They said it was not an original government document, but Pelosi’s copy of the speech.
Steven Aftergood, a records expert at the private Federation of American Scientists, said: “Legally, this is a non-issue. Pelosi was expressing contempt for the president’s speech, and her views are constitutionally protected.” He said her torn-up pieces of the speech might themselves be considered a new record of historical value.
Laurence Tribe, a constitutional law professor at Harvard University, said Pelosi did not violate 18 U.S. Code Section 2071, the federal law defining the deliberate destruction of an official record that has been filed with a court or other government agency — a felony punishable by a prison term and by forfeiture of office.
Heidi Kitrosser, a law professor at the University of Minnesota, said: “This is not an archival document. … This is one of many, many, many copies of President Trump’s speech and Nancy Pelosi is free to do with it whatever she will.” Kitrosser added that any disagreement with Trump’s speech is protected by the First Amendment “and in Pelosi’s case, under the speech and debate clause of the Constitution.”
There are a few things to look at here. The first is how they define a government document. They claim that since it wasn’t Trump’s copy then it doesn’t matter what happens to it. However, in the same breath, they claim that this might become a historical document since it was ripped.
The second thing is the fact they cite Laurence Tribe. Tribe is a Trump hater and a complete fraud. He should not be considered an objective source when discussing anything having to do with Trump.
It is unclear whether this is illegal or not. Either way, Trump certainly thinks it was.

Nancy is such a joke. This lie that is being pushed by her that she was just so offended by her speech she had to rip it is laughable at best. We know exactly why she ripped it. We know that she had planned this rip before she did it. That means she was planning on ripping it before having heard the entire speech.
