After the news broke that President Trump’s lawyer Micheal Cohen was raided by the FBI Trump went back on the attack.
A furious President Trump on Monday blasted the FBI’s seizure of his personal lawyer’s records, calling the move “a witch hunt” — and even “an attack on our country.”
He claimed that the news was responsible for the drop in the stock market from a daily high of 24,373 to just below 23,932, even though news of the feds’ raid broke around 4 p.m., just as the market was closing. The Dow Jones Industrial Average still ended the day 46 points higher than Friday.
“It’s a disgraceful situation,” the president raged after federal agents raided the office and hotel room of his lawyer, Michael Cohen, as part of a bank-fraud probe.
“It’s a total witch hunt,” Trump said. “It’s an attack on our country … what we all stand for.
“When I saw this, when I heard about it, that is a whole new level of unfairness,” the president said.
The seized records included those involving the $130,000 that Cohen paid stripper Stormy Daniels, who says she had an affair with the president and that the dough was hush money.
“The stock market dropped a lot today, as soon as they heard the noise, you know, this nonsense that was going on,” Trump said. “It was up, it was way up. It dropped quite a bit at the end.”

The Washington Post is also reporting that he is being investigated for Bank Fraud and Campaign Finance Violations.
Michael Cohen, the longtime attorney of President Trump, is under federal investigation for possible bank fraud, wire fraud and campaign finance violations, according to a person with knowledge of the case.
FBI agents on Monday raided Cohen’s Manhattan office, home and hotel room as part of the investigation, seizing records about Cohen’s clients and personal finances. Among the records seized were those related to a 2016 payment Cohen made to adult-film star Stormy Daniels, who claims to have had a sexual encounter with Trump, according to another person familiar with the investigators’ work.
Investigators took Cohen’s computer, phone and personal financial records as part of the search of his office at Rockefeller Center, the second person said.
The broad seizure collected communications between Cohen and his clients — including some with Trump, according to both people.
The raid was related to an investigation referred by special counsel Robert S. Mueller III to federal prosecutors in New York, said Stephen Ryan, an attorney for Cohen.
This raid opens up a few new possibilities regarding Mueller’s plans to investigate Trump. The first is that Cohen illegally donated to Trump’s campaign by paying hush money to Stormy Daniels. The second is that they are trying to destroy Cohen in the same way they did to Micheal Flynn. Robert Mueller wants to isolate Trump and take away all of those who have the ability to defend him.
