Saturday night, Trump gave the keynote speech at the RNC donor retreat.
We reported on this on Friday:
We then got excerpts of the speech and reported on those.
Trump was set to say that the GOP was going to win big in 2022 and in 2024.
Now, we have this.
During the speech, Trump hammered Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
According to reports, Trump blasted him as a “stone-cold loser”.
He also brought up the issue of the stolen election.
*don’t mind the liberal bias from CBS*
The former president, though, often deviated from the script during his nearly hour-long speech, according to an attendee at the event. Mr. Trump again took aim at Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, who blasted Mr. Trump following his acquittal in his second impeachment trial, calling McConnell a “total stone cold loser.”
Mr. Trump also continued to baselessly complain about fraud in the 2020 election during his speech, according to a source. The former president and his allies lost more than 60 court cases challenging the results of the November election and Mr. Trump’s own attorney general said there was no evidence of fraud at a level that “could have affected a different outcome in the election.”
This is a big deal.
Trump went to GOP donors and didn’t just call out Democrats but the GOP swamp as well.
It is unclear at this time what type of reaction the donors gave to Trump’s speech.
The only thing we do know is that the GOP continues to be Trump’s party.
Never forget Trump has a war chest of $85 million to take on the establishment.
