This was pure fearmongering from Zeke Emanuel. There is no question that we need to take this virus seriously. There is no question that we need to make sure that there isn’t a second round of this.
However, an eighteen-month lockdown would be a disaster for our country. We are already seeing hard economic times for Americans. A booming economy has melted down.
Democrats want to use this crisis to push a complete overhaul of the US economy. Conservatives must be smart and walk the fine line to fix this while keeping Americans safe. We can’t put Americans at risk and allow the most vulnerable among us to die. We also can’t let the economic slowdown become a long term reality.
