Is Google burying Ilhan Omar stories?

The Daily Wire’s Ryan Saavedra pointed out that the top Google News search results for Ilhan Omar were 3 weeks old.

He is correct on this point. I went to Google and Googled her name under the News section.

Here is what I found:

It is important to take note of a few things. The first is that the top news is 3 weeks old. It is unclear why those articles which are undoubtedly favorable to her show up first (I think we all could make an educated guess as to why though). The second is that no right-wing media made the top results. Everything you see in the Google news section is either left or slightly left of center. Just out of the screenshot I took was a link to Splinter.com, which is a FAR, FAR left website.

In fairness to Google the search engine section, however, does have recent news from Omar.

The power of Google is certainly on display in this story. Even though hundreds of articles from various news sites were written they got to choose which ones were front and center. I’m sure most of this is an algorithm but that still doesn’t explain why three weeks old content shows up in the News section when there are literally hundreds of news articles more recent than those.

I don’t have evidence that Google is burying Ilhan Omar stories but I do have evidence that Google’s algorithms are putting up content that is from left to left wing sources. The only somewhat right-wing source I found was the New York Post which strictly cited left-wing Politico.
