Growing Number Of Republican Congressmen Calling For Special Counsel To Investigate Hunter Biden

A growing number of Congressmen are calling for a special counsel investigation into Hunter Biden.

This should be a no brainer.

Rep Ken Buck and Senator Tom Cotton penned an Op-Ed for Newsweek calling for a special counsel to be appointed to investigate Hunter Biden.

The incoming Biden administration undoubtedly will be tempted to sweep these investigations under the rug. We can’t let that happen. That’s why, in our capacities as members of Congress, we’re calling for a special counsel to be assigned to the Hunter Biden case so investigations will be allowed to continue, impartially and without interference from the new administration.

Special counsels are allowed under the law to investigate and prosecute matters that would present a conflict of interest for the Department of Justice, or in other extraordinary circumstances. The Hunter Biden investigation falls in both categories as an extraordinary circumstance that will pose a significant conflict of interest for the Biden Justice Department. Considering that the subject of the investigation is the son of the incoming president, this case provides almost a textbook example of why special counsels are sometimes necessary.

A special counsel would give Americans confidence that this investigation will proceed fairly and without political influence. It also would signal America’s commitment to transparency and accountability, which has been weakened by well-connected elites like Hunter Biden getting rich at our expense.

Lindsey Graham also called for it:

Every GOP Congressman should be doing the same.

We reported yesterday that President Trump is considering appointing a special counsel for the 2020 election.

According to a new report, President Trump is considering a special counsel to look into both the Hunter Biden scandal as well as election fraud in the 2020 election. These would seemingly be two different appoints of two different special counsels.

This is a great idea and the sooner he does this the better. A Special Counsel would make sure Biden can’t cover up either of these scandals if he does end up taking office.

President Donald Trump is considering pushing to have a special counsel appointed to advance a federal tax investigation into the son of President-elect Joe Biden, setting up a potential showdown with incoming acting attorney general Jeffrey Rosen.

Trump — angry that out-going Attorney General William Barr didn’t publicly announce the ongoing, two-year investigation into Hunter Biden — has consulted on the matter with White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, White House counsel Pat Cipollone and outside allies.

That’s according to several Trump administration officials and Republicans close to the White House who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity to discuss private matters.

Beyond appointing a special prosecutor to investigate the younger Biden, the sources said Trump is interested in having another special counsel appointed to look into his own baseless claims of election fraud. But if he’s expecting his newly named acting attorney general to go further than Barr on either matter, he could end up quickly disappointed.

Here are the biggest pieces of evidence we have for both.

Hunter Biden:

According to a new report from AP, Hunter Biden has been hit with a subpoena seeking info on Burisma and other entities he was involved with.

A subpoena seeking documents from Hunter Biden asked for information related to more than two dozen entities, including Ukraine gas company Burisma, according to a person familiar with a Justice Department tax investigation of President-elect Joe Biden’s son.

The breadth of the subpoena, issued Tuesday, underscores the wide-angle lens prosecutors are taking as they examine the younger Biden’s finances and international business ventures.

Hunter Biden’s ties to Burisma in particular have long dogged the policy work and political aspirations of his father, Joe Biden, now the president-elect of the United States. It’s unclear whether Hunter Biden’s work at the Ukrainian company is a central part of the federal investigation or whether prosecutors are simply seeking information about all his sources of income in recent years.

The person was not authorized to discuss an ongoing investigation publicly and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.

More from The Daily Caller on his Burisma ties:

Hunter Biden joined the board of Burisma Holdings in April 2014, months after his father had taken over as the Obama administration’s chief liaison to the Ukrainian government.

Burisma executives were at the time seeking to expand the company’s business outside of Ukraine. They also hoped to quash various investigations into Burisma’s owner, Mykola Zlochevesky, who was under investigation for bribery.

Burisma paid Hunter Biden and his business partner, Devon Archer, more than $80,000 per month as board members.

They think we are dumb. Didn’t Americans have a right to know Hunter Biden was under investigation?

A new report outlines how Attorney General Barr concealed the fact that Hunter Biden had been under investigation since 2018.

The Washington Examiner:

Attorney General William Barr reportedly worked to keep investigations involving Hunter Biden’s business affairs out of the public’s view during the 2020 election.

A source told the Wall Street Journal that Barr knew since the spring about federal investigations centered in Delaware and Manhattan looking into Biden’s business and financial dealings. This was around the time his father, former Vice President Joe Biden, became the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.

The news comes shortly after reports said Barr plans to stay at the Justice Department until President Trump’s term ends in January, tamping down speculation that he wants to step down early.

Neither inquiry is said to implicate the elder Biden, but Justice Department guidelines advise against overt investigatory actions that could disrupt an election. Still, Republicans have long called for investigations into Hunter Biden, and such a demand by Trump to Ukraine’s president even paved the way to impeachment.

The report said Barr has resisted demands by Republicans in Congress for information on any investigations involving Hunter Biden. In the final weeks leading up to the election, which Joe Biden won, there had been scarce reporting on federal investigatory action related to his son, but there was a great deal of coverage dedicated to the controversy surrounding Trump allies’ efforts to draw attention to Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings and potential for the involvement of a foreign disinformation campaign.

So, in conclusion, we already have an FBI investigation into Hunter Biden. If Biden gets in there is no reason to believe he won’t try and interfere in this probe.

Voter Fraud:

There is more than enough evidence for a deep dive into the 2020 election. One of the issues the Trump Campaign is facing is that exposing all of this takes time. We have massive irregularities but to expose the giant fraud they need to get into the machines.

Here are just a few of the things that need investigating

-Much smaller percentage of mail-in ballots were denied

-Rules being changed

-Voting Machines switching votes as well as mass adjudication

-Dead people voting

-Massive Biden vote dumps

-Georgia “SuitcaseGate” Video

These are just a few.

President Trump needs to appoint a special counsel. Both of these issues need thorough investigating.
