Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) warmed up the crowd at the Save America rally in Sarasota Florida, on Saturday evening, vowing that he’ll vote to nominate former President Donald Trump to be the next Speaker of the House if the GOP retakes Congress.
“After the next election cycle when we take back the House of Representatives, when we send [House Speaker] Nancy Pelosi back to the filth of San Francisco, my commitment to you is that my vote for Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives will go to Donald J. Trump,” Gaetz said to the cheering crowd.
The Palmieri Repot report has been reporting on Trump running for Speaker Of The House from the begining.
It started with Pro-Trump lawyer DC Draino calling for Trump to run for Congress and become Speaker:
It then moved to Trump becoming Speaker without even having to run for congress:
Trump called the idea “interesting” during a radio interview with Wayne Allyn Root.
Trump adviser and spokesperson for Trump at the time, Jason Miller claimed that Trump had “zero desire” to be House Speaker.
Donald Trump has “zero desire” to be House Speaker, his spokesperson Jason Miller told Punchbowl News on Tuesday, after the former president himself called the prospect “very interesting.”
Should Trump be Speaker of the House if the GOP takes back the House in 2022?
