Former Republican Senator Jeff Flake shocked no one by coming out against Republican efforts to fill the vacant Supreme Court seat before the election.
In 2016, nine months before an election, we Republicans said that the next president should fill a Supreme Court vacancy. Today, six weeks before an election, we should hold the same position. Preserving the institution of the Senate should be paramount to any political gain.

No one is shocked by this. Jeff Flake never misses a chance to prove he doesn’t have America’s best interest in mind.
The bottom line is that the scenario we saw in 2016 and the one we see now are not the same. In 2016 Republicans controlled the Senate and Democrats controlled the presidency. That is why Mitch McConell had the power to block President Obama from nominating Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court. What we have now is Republicans controlling the Senate and the Executive. Due to this they can put a Justice on the Supreme Court. This isn’t hard to realize. The real reason Jeff Flake is against this is because he hates President Trump.
Complete fraud!
