Elon Musk just put Twitter on notice.
He sent out a Twitter poll asking if Twitter adheres to the principles of free speech.
So far the poll is overwhelmingly a no.
In a corresponding tweet, he said the “consequences of this poll will be important.”
The consequences of this poll will be important. Please vote carefully.

Twitter erupted with responses:
Twitter and other social media platforms have actively engaged in the partisan manipulation of our electoral process.
There should be consequences.

Make a new Twitter or buy this one. Whatever you decide, the system we're currently forced to work with (as a result of circumstance — Twitter offers the largest platform for journalists and politicians, unlike other platforms) is an impediment to free expression and democracy.

What should Elon Musk name his new social media platform?
— Matt Wallace (@MattWallace888) March 25, 2022
More than a hint that @elonmusk is contemplating starting a social network to rival twitter.
This will be the most dramatic step towards restoring free speech, which almost died during the past two years. https://t.co/4vvAsqYJ1D
