CNN’s John Boykin tweeted out the fact in the new Jobs Report African American unemployment rose to 7.7%.

These numbers are obviously real and showcase the current unemployment rate of African American’s unemployment in America. What they don’t showcase is why this might be. The Government has found a way to make the unemployment rate look a lot better by not counting people who aren’t looking for work into it. This is very likely to be the case with this. With the African American unemployment rate dropping more likely decided to try and look for work and that is why we saw such a big rise.
The Job Market is so strong that it is nonsensical to think that Black Unemployment would rise from a low of 6.8% to 7.7% the largest increase in quite some time.
