During a recent interview, he said that the courts should not be able to overrule the CDC’s ruling on mask mandates.

White House chief medical adviser Anthony Fauci on Thursday took aim at the federal court ruling that overturned the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s mask mandate on planes and public transportation, calling it “disturbing†that a judge can overrule the CDC….
“We are concerned about … courts getting involved in things that are unequivocally public health decisions,†Fauci said. “This is a CDC issue, it should not have been a court issue.â€

White House COVID Coordinator Ashish Jha directly contradicted Dr. Fauci’s statement saying that “the judiciary has an important role to play.”
The White House has contradicted Dr. Anthony Fauci on mask mandate decisions, saying that the judiciary plays an “important role” and simply made an “incorrect decision.”
“Obviously, the judiciary has an important role to play,” White House COVID Coordinator Ashish Jha said on Sunday’s “State of the Union.” “What you heard out of the administration, out of the Department of Justice, is the assessment that this is an incorrect decision and the DOJ is now appealing this decision.”
