Bernie Sanders is officially within the minority on the issue among Progressives. As most of the Democratic Party moves farther left Bernie is at least moving towards the middle. Unlike the rest of the Democrats running in 2020 Sanders understands that many of his supporters voted for Trump in 2016. Sanders likely views immigration as a way to grab centrist Democrats to vote for him.
