AOC is now attacking Mitch McConnell for killing a bill she voted against.
His Senate bill is a militarization bill. McConnell killed the House Bill & dropped this one right before recess to force passage.
Well, too bad. This is our job. Cancel vacation, fly the Senate in. Pass a clean humanitarian bill & stop trying to squeeze crises for more pain.

The problem with this whining is that AOC voted against this bill that she is attacking McConnell for “killing”.
STATEMENT FROM Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley, and Rashida Tlaib:
These radicalized, criminal agencies are destroying families and killing innocent children. It is absolutely unconscionable to even consider giving one more dollar to support this President’s deportation force that openly commits human rights abuses and refuses to be held accountable to the American people…
We must be equitable in our outrage. We must abolish ICE. We must invest in community-based alternatives to detention. We must end the system of mass detention and deportation of immigrants. We must create an immigration system that reflects our values and respects the dignity and humanity of all.
Thankfully, CNN’s Jake Tapper called her out on this:
“Did you call them concentration camps…when Obama was President?” @jaketapper asks @AOC, pressing her on the distinction between the colloquial and academic definitions of the term.
“I’m here to speak truth to power… I frankly don’t care what president does it,” she replies. pic.twitter.com/7hZHWb2KfH

The real reason Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is mad is that Mitch McConnell actually was able to outsmart the House Democrats.
McConnell’s Bill, that as Jake Tapper pointed out was passed 84-8 in the Senate:
0 conferencing with House Dems. 0 amendments accepted – including CRUCIAL amendments that would prevent more suffering.
There is enormous frustration here with the capitulation of the Senate minority. But that aside, we have a majority in the House and need to use it.

The bottom line is that the Democrats had no choice but to take the Senate Bill. The House Bill would not have gotten the bipartisan support that the Senate Bill did and therefore the Democrats would have looked horrible to everyday Americans.
