President Donald Trump is still taking on Big Tech.
He just filed an appeal after his lawsuit against Twitter was dismissed.
Former President Donald Trump filed an appeal over the dismissal of his lawsuit that claimed Twitter violated his First Amendment right to free speech when the platform banned him following the events of Jan. 6, 2021.
Bloomberg reports that Trump filed a notice of appeal in San Francisco federal court on Monday, saying he will take his case to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
U.S. District Judge James Donato dismissed the complaint in May, ruling that Trump had not proven that Twitter was functioning as a government censor when it banned him for violating its policy on tweets that glorify violence.
Even with Elon Musk attempting to buy Twitter Trump still sees no hope for the platform.
He called out Twitter in Two separate Truth Social posts:
Twitter is in big trouble, has lost all credibility, and is unlikely to see Elon Musk close his ridiculous deal with them after having learned so much about the massive number of Bots and Fake Accounts that people using Twitter must endure. Why doesn’t the Corrupt Racist New York State Attorney General, Letitia James, who just dropped out of the Governor’s race after getting almost no support, investigate them? It would be great politics for a “political hack†like her!
He followed it up with another one:
I think Twitter is going down. Bots, Spam, Fake Accounts (and more!), all add up to big trouble, but the biggest trouble of all for them is that, no matter how many times they may ask, or admit they were wrong, I will never go back on Twitter again – TRUTH IS BETTER! Elon has no idea what he is getting into. It’s a complete mess where users are fleeing, in many cases to TRUTH. There is no confidence in Twitter anymore. It has become a dark, unfriendly and very boring hole!
