I am not denying that covid is awful for the people who do get really sick or for the families of the people who die, just as it is awful for the families of people who die of cancer, or influenza, or an opioid overdose. But the size of the response in most of the world (not including Sweden) has been totally disproportionate to the size of the threat.
I would tell all Americans to click the link above and read his full article. It is articles like this that should infuriate Americans. Our politicians and Mainstream Media botched this about as much as they could have.
Now, I hear the argument that it was a new disease and therefore it is hard to blame them for not getting everything right. I hear this argument. There is no question that they were tasked with a nearly impossible job. However, the part that they should be blamed for is their inability to change course once evidence proves them wrong. I remember the hundreds of articles lambasting Sweden over the fact they didn’t shut down the country like the rest of the world did. Yet I don’t see hundreds of articles praisng Sweden saying how well they handled this pandemic. I see an entire political party(The Democrats) and their friends in the Mainstream Press continuing to push hysteria that is backed by almost no science. There is no evidence that points to areas with more mask-wearing leading to lower cases. There is no evidence that places with stricter lockdowns procedures leading to lower overall cases. What we see is that this virus is going to infect people and there is little we can actually do about. Remeber the uptick in Florida the Mainstream Press told you about? They told us see lockdowns work! However, California had that same increase. California has some of the strictest Chinese Coronaivirus laws in the nation. So, there is no evidence that lockdowns or masks lead to less cases.
This ER doctor points out that his evidence was anecdotal. He is only speaking about what he has seen himself however, larger data backs up his points.
While the rest of the world is dealing with the Chinese Coronavirus 6 months later Sweden is bascially done with it. If we want to follow science then the country needs to start re-opening and fast.
