It is great to see the media actually call out Democrats.
Dem Rep. Rashida Tlaib(D-MI) claimed that those using the filibuster were at least partially motivated by racism during an interview with Axios’ Johnathan Swan.
Swan then exposed her and the Democrats as massive hypocrites.
Swan pointed out that Democrats used the filibuster against the Trump administration while Republicans were in control of the senate.
He pointed to a letter that was signed by Democrats, including Kamala Harris, asking for the filibuster to be protected.
She then said she wouldn’t be all that upset if the filibuster was used against the Republicans again.
When pressed about Democrats’ using the filibuster during the Trump administration, Tlaib conceded that it “would have been unfortunate” had they not had the filibuster.
“Maybe it would have created the movement that needed to happen outside of Congress to demand accountability, right?” she added.
“But I don’t want something to be used over and over again, to stop protecting my Black neighbors. And it seems that’s when it gets triggered the most.”
The bottom line: Tlaib said that “of course” she will still support getting rid of the filibuster if Republicans take back the House and the Senate in 2024.
