Pro-Trump Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY) is exploring a run for governor.
🚨With his nursing home cover-up & abuse coming more to light, it's clear #CuomosGottaGo. As a NYer, I can't sit back as Cuomo attacks our freedoms, our wallets & our safety. After many msgs of encouragement & discussing w/ my fam, I’m actively exploring a 2022 run for Gov of NY. https://t.co/iek5YiCF3E

In an interview with Fox News couple of hours later, Zeldin reiterated that “I am now actively exploring the race for governor.”
“I believe that Republicans will retake the House in 2022, so with the reality that if I run for governor I’m not going to be running for re-election to the House, I only want to make that run if it’s a run we can make and win,” the congressman emphasized.
“If the calls go the way all these texts, emails and calls have gone in recent days and weeks of people reaching out, I’m only going to grow more encouraged and motivated that New Yorkers are ready for a change,” he noted.
Zeldin said his next step will be to make “phone calls all across the state to talk to Republican Party and Conservative Party leaders, elected officials, former elected officials, others who might be in leadership positions in law enforcement, veterans groups, other organizations, to get everyone’s thoughts and perspective on a candidacy.”
Cuomo is on the ropes.
Not only is he facing major issues regarding his sexual harassment of women:
But he also is facing issues regarding his terrible handling of the pandemic:
New York has become a hell hole.
We need a strong governor to fix the issues that Dems in the state created.
