Liz Cheney continues to push for a criminal referral of Donald Trump.
During an interview with ABC’s “This Week†Liz Cheney was asked if Trump could be prosecuted by the DOJ.
She said he could and reiterated that the sham Jan 6th panel is still considering whether they will issue a criminal referral.
Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY) said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week†that the House Select Committee investigating the January 6 riot could be giving the Justice Department “more than one†criminal referral.
Anchor Jon Karl asked, “You’ve been clear since really January 6 itself that he bears responsibility, have these hearings demonstrated that Donald Trump needs to be prosecuted?â€
Cheney said, “Ultimately, the Justice Department will decide that. I think we may well, as a committee, have a view on that. And if you just think about it from the perspective of what kind of man knows that the mob is armed and sends the mob to attack the Capitol and further incites that mob when his own vice president is under threat, when the Congress is under threat? It’s very chilling. I think certainly we will, you know, continue to present to the American people what we found.â€
Karl asked, “The committee will or will not make a criminal referral?â€
Cheney said, “We’ll make a decision as a committee about it.â€
Karl asked, “So it’s possible there will be a criminal referral?â€
Cheney said, “Yes.â€
