To this point, only two GOP Senators have broken ranks. Both Maine Senator Susan Collins and Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski have said they will not support a replacement. The GOP does not need them to put Trump’s nominee on the Supreme Court.
This is great news for President Trump and the GOP. If they pushed to get a nominee on the Supreme Court and failed it would really hurt them in 2020. Not only would the left get higher turnout but many on the right would likely stay home seeing that they failed.
I also think it is important that they do have hearings to have the Justice nominated. One of the Republican’s best weapons is how radical the left is. They will overact and do the same stuff they did to Brett Kavanaugh.
It is well documented that the Brett Kavanaugh hearings cost vulnerable Democrats seats.
