A video posted online Thursday shows GOP Representative Ken Buck claiming Google changed its algorithm “to disadvantage Donald Trump and to advantage Joe Biden” during the 2020 presidential race.
Buck—the top Republican on the House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Antitrust, Commercial and Administrative Law, which is investigating Big Tech—also said of Google, “They chose the winner.”
Lauren Windsor of the web show The Undercurrent posted the video on Thursday. In it, the Colorado Republican is speaking at an event in late June hosted by Patriot Voices, a conservative group founded by former GOP Senator Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania.
In the video clip, Buck talks about the baseless claim regarding Google amending its algorithms to favor Biden over Trump. He said he’s asked “people that own newspapers” about the issue and was told that “‘it’s just a technical thing. We don’t know what the result was; we just know that…a technical person did this.'”
Buck added: “Nonsense! They chose the winner. They can move the estimates. They moved 15 million votes.”
Now, the left calls this a conspiracy theory.
That isn’t true.
It has been well documented that Google’s algorithm can impact vote totals.
Here is one write-up in the Epoch Times from Robert Epstein about this.
From Epoch Times(written in 2018):
A total of 118.5 million people voted in the midterm elections, but Google couldn’t reach them all. Taking age and other factors into account, I estimate that Google would have reached 87.7 million of those voters. Of that number, it’s likely that just under 87.2 million people would have voted without Google’s prompt.
In other words, Google’s “Go Vote” message probably sent about 497,000 people to the polls (0.57 percent of 87.2 million) who otherwise would have stayed home.
Of these, about 174,000 would have voted for Democratic candidates (35 percent of 497,000), and about 144,000 would have voted Republican (29 percent of 497,000). The “demographics differential” here—the net gain for Democrats—was just over 29,800. The net gain for Democrats among independents gives us an additional 19,700 people, so the total net gain for Democrats was 49,500.
That might not sound like much, but remember that Trump’s Electoral College win was made possible by a total margin of only 77,744 votes in three states. Anyway, I’m just getting started.
Now, we can move onto 2020.
According to Robert Epstein, Google Shifted a ‘Minimum’ of 6 Million Votes in 2020.
Psychologist and search engine expert Dr. Robert Epstein appeared on Fox News’ Tucker Carlson Tonight yesterday to reveal his findings on Google’s search manipulation in the 2020 election, which Epstein claims could have shifted a minimum of six million votes in one direction.
“First of all, we had 733 field agents in three key swing states this year: Arizona, North Carolina, and Florida, and we preserved more than 500,000 ephemeral experiences… That’s about 30 times more data than we got in 2016,” said Epstein.
“Google search results were strongly biased in favor of liberals and Democrats. This was not true on Bing or Yahoo. The bias was being shown to pretty much every demographic group we looked at, including conservatives…. Conservatives got slightly more bias in their search results than liberals did. How do you account for that?”
“We also found what seems to be a smoking gun. That is, we found a period of days when the vote reminder on Google’s homepage was being sent only to liberals — not one of our conservative field agents received a vote reminder during those days.”
This isn’t talked about often.
This is another piece of evidence of how Big Tech can influence elections.
