GOP canvass board members in Michigan who switched their vote last night and announced they would certify the election results in Wayne County have switched back again this time once again not certifying the vote.

Just The News:

In an extraordinary turnabout that foreshadows possible legal action, the two GOP members of Wayne County’s election board signed affidavits Wednesday night alleging they were bullied and misled into approving election results in Michigan’s largest metropolis and do not believe the votes should be certified until serious irregularities in Detroit votes are resolved.

The statements by Wayne County Board of Canvassers Chairwoman Monica Palmer and fellow GOP member William C. Hartmann rescinding their votes from a day earlier threw into question anew whether Michigan’s presidential vote currently favoring Democrat Joe Biden will be certified. They also signaled a possible legal confrontation ahead.

“I voted not to certify, and I still believe this vote should not be certified,” Hartmann said his affidavits. “Until these questions are addressed, I remain opposed to certification of the Wayne County results.”

Added Palmer in her affidavit: “I rescind my prior vote to certify Wayne County elections.”

Both GOP board members said their concerns included there were discrepancies in nearly three quarters of Detroit’s precincts poll books where ballots are supposed to be matched to qualified voters.

“The Wayne County election had serious process flaws which deserve investigation. I continue to ask for information to assure Wayne County voters that these elections were conducted fairly and accurately. Despite repeated requests I have not received the requisite information and believe an additional 10 days of canvas by the State Board of canvassers will help provide the information necessary,” Palmer explained.

Here is what happened yesterday:

According to a report from Shannon Bream, the Wayne County Board Of Canvassers Caved and certified their election results after being under “a lot of threats and pressure”.

Of course.

UPDATE: We have some of the threats:

HERE IS OUR INITIAL REPORTING:

Wayne County in Michigan has refused to certify its election results.

It is deadlocked at a 2-2 tie.

Detroit News:

The decision came after absentee ballot poll books at 70% of Detroit’s 134 absentee counting boards were found to be out of balance without explanation. The mismatches varied anywhere from one to more than four votes.

In August, canvassers found 72% of Detroit’s absentee voting precincts didn’t match the number of ballots cast. The imbalances between August and November are not an exact comparison since August’s canvassing was based on results from 503 precincts and November’s canvassing was based on 134 counting boards.

The situation in August and earlier imbalances in 2016 were not enough to keep the same board from certifying the results in the August and November 2016.

Board Vice Chairman Jonathan Kinloch, a Democrat, called the decision by the two Republican members “reckless and irresponsible.”

Chairwoman Monica Palmer, a Republican, defended the decision.

“Based on what I saw and went through in poll books in this canvass, I believe that we do not have complete and accurate information in those poll books,” she said.

The campaign of President Donald Trump has been looking to discredit the results in Wayne County by questioning how the absentee ballots were counted at the TCF Center in Detroit. Democratic President-elect Joe Biden defeated Trump 51%-48% in Michigan or by 146,000 votes in unofficial statewide results.

Trump would win Michigan without this county:
