Dr. Anthony Fauci is now saying that masks and social distancing might still be needed after a vaccine becomes available.

Dr. Anthony Fauci said Sunday it will still be necessary to social distance, wear masks and take other COVID-19 precautions after a vaccine becomes available to Americans.
“I would recommend to people to not to abandon all public health measures just because you’ve been vaccinated,†Fauci told CNN anchor Jake Tapper on “State of the Union.â€
“Because even though for the general population it might be 90 to 95 percent effective, you don’t necessarily know for you how effective it is.â€

The announcement comes as drugmakers and research centers scramble to deliver a safe and effective vaccine to help bring an end to the coronavirus pandemic that has claimed over 1.2 million lives worldwide.
Scientists are hoping for a coronavirus vaccine that is at least 75% effective, while White House coronavirus advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci has said one that is 50% or 60% effective would be acceptable.
