The Florida Supreme Court has declined to hear a challenge to the congressional map drawn by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
The Florida Supreme Court declined on Thursday to hear a challenge to the new congressional map crafted by Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) and approved by the GOP-controlled state legislature.
The court’s announcement means that the map, which heavily favors Republicans, will likely remain in place for the 2022 midterm elections.
It also means that Florida’s 1st District Court of Appeal will have the final say on the map. That court previously threw out a circuit court decision to redraw the map.
