Another Bombshell report from The Washington Post fell short. This report is cleverly titled “Russian ambassador told Moscow that Kushner wanted secret communications channel with Kremlin”. This headline is strong and makes you feel as if there is a bombshell within the article. Once again there is not much at all.
Jared Kushner and Russia’s ambassador to Washington discussed the possibility of setting up a secret and secure communications channel between Trump’s transition team and the Kremlin, using Russian diplomatic facilities in an apparent move to shield their pre-inauguration discussions from monitoring, according to U.S. officials briefed on intelligence reports.
Ambassador Sergei Kislyak reported to his superiors in Moscow that Kushner, son-in-law and confidant to then-President-elect Trump, made the proposal during a meeting on Dec. 1 or 2 at Trump Tower, according to intercepts of Russian communications that were reviewed by U.S. officials. Kislyak said Kushner suggested using Russian diplomatic facilities in the United States for the communications.
I guess I should begin with the only troubling part of this report. Yes, it is troubling that Kushner wanted secret communications with the Russians but that doesn’t prove anything. The supposed talks mentioned above happened after Trump was already elected. If Trump and Russia were colluding wouldn’t they have attempted to shield their conversations before he was elected? Why wait until the colluding had already taken place?
Another excerpt from the report destroys the left’s Russian Narrative
Kislyak reportedly was taken aback by the suggestion of allowing an American to use Russian communications gear at its embassy or consulate — a proposal that would have carried security risks for Moscow as well as the Trump team.
If Russia and Trump were colluding why would Kislyak be against this proposal. Clearly, if Russia wanted to properly meddle in our election they would do it in the safest way possible.
This report shows me one thing. The first thing is that Russia wanted to communicate with Trump through his advisors. The second is that Russia never had any relationship with Trump himself and in turn had no way of colluding directly with him.
Once again The Washington Post provides us with a nothing burger trying to prolong the Russian Narrative.

Asked about reports that Donald Trump’s son-in-law had tried to set up a secret channel of communication with Russia before the president took office, U.S. National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster said that so-called “back-channeling” was normal.
McMaster declined to speak specifically about the case of Jared Kushner, who serves as a senior adviser to Trump, but when asked if it would concern him if someone in the administration tried to set up a back channel with the Russian embassy or the Kremlin, he replied “no”.
“We have back-channel communications with any number of individual (countries). So generally speaking, about back-channel communications, what that allows you to do is communicate in a discreet manner,” McMaster said.
“So it doesn’t pre-expose you to any sort of content or any kind of conversation or anything. So we’re not concerned about it.”
