Unemployment rate falls to 3.9%, lowest since 2000

The US unemployment rate fell to 3.9% in the Month of April.

In April, the U.S. economy added 164,000 jobs while the unemployment rate fell to 3.9%, according to the latest data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. This unemployment rate matches a level last seen in December 2000.

 

Experts predicted the unemployment rate would drop to 4.0% and that 193,000 jobs would be created. Workforce participation fell from 62.9% to 62.8% as well.
