Cpl. Michael Paredes and Officer Joseph Santana were murdered in broad daylight in Los Angeles County.
The officers protecting a family.
Two California police officers were murdered in broad daylight on Tuesday while responding to a domestic dispute at a motel in Los Angeles County when the suspect, who was reportedly already on probation for a gun charge, ambushed them.
The El Monte Police Department announced that Cpl. Michael Paredes and Officer Joseph Santana were “killed in the line of duty, while faithfully carrying out their sworn duties.”
El Monte Mayor Jessica Ancona said the officers were “essentially ambushed while trying to keep a family safe.”
The suspect who killed the cops got the bare minimum sentence from the far-left DA George Gascon.
Law enforcement sources tell me Justin William Flores had a previous strike conviction in 2011 for PC 459, but that he still received the absolute bare minimum sentence for his felon in possession of a gun charges last year in accordance w/ Gascon policies. 2 years probation.

LA DA sources tell me even though Flores had a strike on his record, it was not considered during this gun case in Feb 2021 in accordance w/ Gascon’s policies of not prosecuting CA 3 Strikes Law. A trial court & a CA appellate court have now both ruled Gascon’s policy was illegal
