While on Fox and Friends Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) compared the rioters in Portland to the Confederacy.
On Fox & Friends, Sen. Tom Cotton compares protesters to the Confederacy: “These insurrectionists in the streets of Portland are little different from the insurrectionists who seceded from the union in 1861 in South Carolina, and tried to take over Fort Sumter.” pic.twitter.com/7ylYh3N1dB

I think the main thing to point out here is that Senator Cotton was clearly talking about the rioters and those that were violent. There is an effort by the Mainstream Press to claim that he is talking about the peaceful protesters as well. However, Sen. Cotton clearly states he is talking about only the violent rioters. Whether you agree or disagree with Senator Cotton it is important to tell the truth about his argument.
