Teaching assistant Lindsay Shepherd was verbally attacked by other professors at Wilfrid Laurier University for showing a video from someone with a Conservative viewpoint.

Teaching assistant Lindsay Shepherd thought her tutorial class should hear Peterson debate his positions, but she was verbally reprimanded by professors Nathan Rambukkana, Herbert Pilmlott and the school’s manager of “gendered violence prevention,” Adria Joel.
During the confrontation, Rambukkana suggested Shepherd was “spreading transphobia,” creating a “toxic climate” and that listening to Peterson defend his views was akin to “neutrally playing a speech by Hitler.”
The professors did not know that Shepherd was recording the dressing-down.
The professors would not disclose to the teaching assistant how many students had allegedly complained about the video, saying it was “confidential” and only allowing that “one or multiple students” had objected.
Rambukkana matter-of-factly states that Peterson’s “arguments are contrary to the Canadian human rights code” and have no place in a classroom
So we have a few things in play here. The first is the fact that she was screamed at by some of the other professors. What right do they think they have to belittle this Teaching assistant. It is one thing if you respectfully ask for it not to be shown but it is an entirely different story to belittle the assistant in this way. The next thing is the fact these professors compared this to showing a speech by Hitler.
1. Showing a speech by Hitler would be accepted on a College Campus due to the fact it would have historical significance.
2. The speaker who was being shown literally has nothing to do with Nazi’s and not wanting to call someone born a man who thinks they are a woman a girl doesn’t make you one.
3. I find it funny that they talk up all this violence against the Trans community garbage yet do little to protect conservatives or their speech.
This is one of the most disgusting things I have witnessed in quite some time. College campuses should be places of free speech and robust debate, not a safe place for liberals.
