Sorry Media Trump has been tougher on Russia than Obama

The Mainstream Media and the left have not stopped talking about Russia since the election of Donald Trump. They have turned Russia into this giant boogeyman and any action Trump takes that isn’t hurting Russia is deemed awful and for him being in bed with Putin. I will break down two major issues and then provide an excerpt from The Daily Caller to round out just how tough Trump has been on Russia.

Election Meddling:

The media isn’t happy due to the fact Trump hasn’t been tough enough on Russia’s supposed meddling in our election. The first thing we need to understand is that countries are always meddling in other countries election. Do you mean to tell me that China wasn’t trying to influence our election? Of crouse they were. Yet the media only picks up on the Russia part. They also gloss over the fact Ukraine and England both also were involved in impacting our elections. Ukraine was actively working with Hillary’s campaign to undermine Paul Manafort and former MI6 agent Christopher Steele was the one who compiled the now infamous Steele Dossier that led to the wiretapping and investigation of Donald Trump colluding with the Russians. They also leave out the fact that Obama knew of Russia’s attempts to impact our election but did nothing about it. Obama had a chance to get out ahead of this issue but decided not to because he thought it would only cast doubt on Hillary Clinton when she won.

Sanctions:

I’m going to keep this one short and sweet. Trump not implementing the sanctions Congress voted for does not mean he is in bed with Putin. Tump actively believes in better relations with Russia and is not going to stop doing that because of the hysteria the media has concocted.

From an OP-ED in The Daily Caller:

In addition to keeping the two Russian compounds closed over Kremlin protest, President Trump added three Russian compounds to the list.

In addition to keeping the Obama sanctions in place, President Trump’s Department of Treasury sanctioned 38 groups and individuals connected to Ukrainian separatists, froze assets on five of Vladimir Putin’s prominent allies, and began to roll out a new batch of congressionally mandated sanctions, providing a list of targets and a report on sanctions’ impact. Having provided these lists, the administration is currently well within its 120-day timeline to evaluate which targets have changed their ways or require the hammer.

But what else?

President Obama was afraid to enforce America’s chemical weapon treaty with Syria because he didn’t want a confrontation with the Russians. President Trump struck Syria without a single utterance about red lines, calmly informing the Chinese dictator of his unilateral action over “the most beautiful piece of chocolate cake that you have ever seen.”

President Obama scrapped George W. Bush’s promise to deploy a missile-defense shield to Poland. President Trump sent American missiles back along with American natural gas — a direct slap to Russia, which uses its energy-exports to threaten Europe at will. (RELATED: 5 Times Trump Has Slapped Down Russia)

President Obama withheld lethal arms to Ukraine after Russia’s invasion. President Trump OK’d lethal weapons to Ukraine.

President Obama let the military budget lapse under the weight of multiple wars and domestic caps. President Trump increased military spending.

President Obama asked Russia to stop breaking the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty and was soundly ignored. President Trump responded“with a missile of [our] own.”

President Obama held the U.S. back from tapping into the energy wells that crush Russia’s ability to pay for its military. President Trump unleashed American fracking and potential for oil exploration.

President Obama told the Kremlin he’d have “more flexibility” after he beat Gov. Mitt Romney.

President Obama later told mean old Romney, “The 1980s are now calling to ask for their foreign policy back because…the Cold War’s been over for 20 years.” MSNBC thought it was hysterical. The Washington Post called it a sweet “zinger.”

Don’t let the Mainstream Media fool you Donald Trump has not laid down for Russia. He has, in fact, showed strength by making sure he abides by his agenda no matter how it impacts Russia. He also has shown strength by not overreacting like the media has to Russia’s involvement. Russia wants to keep America off balance and by not allowing their actions to stop his progress is something truly remarkable.
