According to a Twitter post by Katie Hopkins, a textbook for 8th graders in California was banned because it talked about a variety of sexual topics including bondage and anal sex.

UPDATE: FB has unfairly blocked this post and marked it as false news. Why? Because the picture used is from the original posting and shows their headline claiming it was being taught in class. Our write-up, however, corrects this error and emphasizes that it was listed as recommended reading and removed after parental outcry- which is confirmed in their false news write-up. This book called ‘SEX’ was originally on the California schools suggested reading list for kids 9-12th grade. After a huge public outcry it was removed. The fact that it was even deemed acceptable by those in charge of creating the reading list for California’s school children is what is most abhorrent and unacceptable.
California is hoping that the overhaul of sex education in its state will encourage other states to follow their lead. And we know here in the Evergreen State that whenever California does something, Washington is not far behind.
These are NOT the kind of things we want children learning in school and the type of people who believe this is appropriate for kids are NOT the ones we want designing our sex ed curriculum. We parents should not have to tell other adults that this is not appropriate for children
This story seems to be extremely old (May 2019) but I figured it was worth bringing back up. The attack on the post by Facebook is rather recent and therefore makes this newsworthy.
The best point that is made by Informal Parents is that this is our future. Every time the left backs away from something they are still planning on implementing it at a later date.
