Report: Christians are the most persecuted group in the world

Research from the Center for Studies on New Religions found that Christians are by far the most persecuted group in the world.

Their study showed that 90,000 Christians were killed for their faith in 2016.

Over the past century, the majority of persecutions came from atheistic communities. Atheists from all around the world hated the idea of Christianity or Religion in general. That landscape has shifted. The new main persecutors are Islamic-fundamentalist.

This finding came from Dr. Massimo Introvigne(leader of the study) who told  Breitbart news.

“Islamic extremism is by far the most significant persecution engine” of Christians in the world today and that “40 of the 50 countries on the World Watch List are affected by this kind of persecution.”

The issue is not just with terrorist groups around the world. According to Dr. Introvigne many governments actually support and promote this as well.

“Several Muslim countries still have laws punishing apostasy—converting from Islam to another religion,” he noted. “Others have laws against blasphemy, and some tend to consider any criticism of Islam as blasphemy.”

One of CESNUR’s annual studies told us that between 500 and 600 million Christians were in some way persecuted or prevented from freely practicing their faith.

It is clear that the persecution of Christians is becoming more and more of an issue as Islamic-fundamentalists gain more and more control worldwide.

While millions are persecuted every year, our media turns a blind eye to it and by doing so is openly supporting the spread of Islamic-fundamentalism worldwide.
