After many protested Police with the Black Lives Matter movement many residents of Baltimore are now attributing the crime rise in Baltimore to the lack of police in their neighborhoods.

NPR:

For the third year in a row, Baltimore, Md., has had more than 300 murders, reaching a new record of murders per number of residents in 2017.

Some residents attribute the high murder rate to relaxed police patrols in the city following high-profile cases of police brutality. Officers have backed off in neighborhoods, like the one where Freddie Gray was arrested.

Obviously, not everyone in Baltimore called for police to pull out of their neighborhoods but the strong BLM movement did. They called out Police for being “racist” and “evil” and wanted nothing to do with Police Officers. As predicted by those on the right, this has led to more crime and more deaths. This is just more evidence proving that Police aren’t the issues in these neighborhoods, in fact, they are part of the solution. The culture and poverty are the reason for the crime rates and the only way to fix this horrendous murder rate is by first fixing those key issues.
