President Trump took to Twitter stating that he just had a phone call with Xi Jinping and a deal between the two was moving along well.
Just had a long and very good call with President Xi of China. Deal is moving along very well. If made, it will be very comprehensive, covering all subjects, areas and points of dispute. Big progress being made!

It is unclear just how close they are to finalizing a deal but this is one of the most important parts of the Presidents agenda. Trump promised to fight China on their unfair trade practices and he certainly is battling them on that front.
