With the passing of the Republicans health care bill Planned Parenthood would lose $422 million dollars in federal funding. It would still allow them to receive the $60 million in Title-X family planning funds that they receive annually though. Now this bill still needs to make it through the senate but the Republicans do hold a 52-48 vote margin in congress. Republicans will refuse to pass this bill if the defunding of Planned Parenthood is not involved.
If this bill makes it through the senate with Planned Parenthood still defunded it will be a huge win for the Pro-life movement. Not only would it put a huge damper on the everyday practices of the baby killing mill that is Planned Parenthood but it also still funds women’s healthcare. The $422 million in savings will go directly into community health centers that provide healthcare for Women. These health centers actually offer more services for women due to the fact Planned Parenthood focuses mostly on reproductive health.
This is the first step in dismantling Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood is the organization that preys on young women and shows them no option but abortion. Somehow this organization is still up and running even after so many people have uncovered just how corrupt this organization is.ÂÂ
Although this bill isn’t without its flaws the defunding of Planned Parenthood is makes this portion a huge win.
