Europe was the victim of another Terror attack Thursday. The main man responsible for the attack was a gunman by the name of Karim C. or his “war name” Abu Yosuf the Belgian. Karim with an accomplice pulled up to a vehicle with three Police Officers in it. Karim opened fire on them killing one and seriously wounding the other two. ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
Information on Karim’s past has begun to come out.
According to The Mirror Karim had been convicted in 2001 of a similar crime but was let out early thanks to an appeal.
Here’s The Mirror’s reporting on it:
The Isis terrorist who murdered a policeman and severely wounded two others on the Champs Elysee in Paris tonight was sentenced to 20 years in prison for trying to kill officers in 2003.
Identified as Karim C. and using the ‘nom de guerre’ (war name) ‘Abu Yousuf the Belgian’, the 39-year-old had also made dark threats to kill more police using Telegram, the instant messaging service. The France-born killer lived in Chelles, a commuter town close to Paris in the Seine-et-Marne department.
Sixteen years ago, in 2001, he opened fire on two police officers after being caught in a stolen car, ‘grievously hurting two of them’, according to police sources.
He also attacked a third man.
Karim C. was sentenced to two decades inside a high security prison in 2003 following the attacks in Roissy-en-Brie, also in Seine-et-Marne.
But he was let out early following an appeal ruling, giving him the freedom to carry out tonight’s attack.
Karim C. was the registered keeper of the grey Audi used in tonight’s attack.
A raid on his home later found guns and ammunition, said intelligence sources. Karim C. had targeted a parked patrol car full of traffic control officers working to the Paris prefecture.
The officer killed was at the wheel and was having an evening snack at the time of his death.
Judicial system’s all over the world are letting their citizens down. This man Karim C was a clear threat to society and deserved to be behind bars. How a man who was sentenced to 20 years in prison for shooting at two Police Officers get’s out early shocks me.
The release of this man led to the death of one Police Officer. That is unacceptable.
