During a nomination hearing before the Senate Committee on Armed Services, New Hampshire Democratic Sen. Jeanne Shaheen asked Dr. Dean L. Winslow about the Texas Shooter. She asked about whether or not Devin Patrick Kelley should have received a dishonorable discharge instead of the lesser bad conduct discharge. Now, after answering this he decided to go a step further and talk about AR-15’s in general.
Trump’s nominee stated:
“I’d also like to, and I may get in trouble with other members of the committee, just say how insane it is that in the United States of America a civilian can go out and buy a semi-automatic assault rifle like an AR-15, which apparently was the weapon that was used,â€
The Gun used in the attack was Ruger AR-556 which according to Gun expert is similar to an AR-15.
Now, not every nominee Trump picks is going to be 100 percent behind every policy decision he makes but this is still indeed a story. Everytime a Gun Grabber makes a statement like this we must call them out. Let’s introduce why this is moronic.
Besides the fact that most Gun Deaths come from handguns rather than Assault Rifles there is still a better argument to be made. The bottom line is that nobody should be able to determine which guns the American people should own. These AR-15 style guns are not fully automatic and had the airforce done their job would have never ended up in the hands of this monster. They seem to gloss over the fact that there was a gun used for its intended purpose in this atrocious event.
