NBA 2019 PLAYOFFS PREVIEW

GUEST POST FROM CONTRIBUTOR MATT PALMIERI

(1) Bucks vs (8) Pistons

Bucks win 4-2

This series will come down to the team with more depth. The Pistons will win two games because of their strength advantage down low. The Bucks will win the series because they have more depth and one of the best players in the league Giannis Antetokounmpo.

(4 ) Celtics vs (5) Pacers

Celtics win 4-1

Although the Celtics have been an up and down team this year they have an experienced team in the playoffs and a great closer in Kyrie Irving. This will win them the series as the Pacers lost their star scorer Victor Oladipo. The Pacers will win one game at home because of their defense and the way they play together.

(3) 76ers vs (6) Nets

76ers win 4-2

The Nets are a young team with a lot of talent that will win them two games in this series. The 76ers have experience over the Nets in the playoffs. The 76ers have a better starting lineup than the nets, but lackluster second unit of the 76ers and the combo of D’Angelo Russell and Spencer Dinwiddie will win the Nets two games.

(2) Raptors vs (7) Magic

Raptors win 4-0

The Raptors have a deeper team than the Magic and a better team on the bench and the starting lineup. The Magic have no mismatches on offense and have no one to guard the Raptors offense firepower. Some games in the series will be close, but I don’t see the Magic winning any.

(1) Warriors vs (8) Clippers

Warriors win 4-1

If you took a deep look at the matchup between both teams you would say the Warriors would blow them out in every game. Warriors will win this series but with the young talent of Montrez Harrell and the veteran scorer, Lou Williams will win the Clippers one game. The Clippers have some good bench pieces like Landrey Shamet that can help them in the series.

(4) Rockets vs (5) Jazz

Rockets win 4-3

This could be the closest series in the first round of the playoffs. The Rockets have one of the best offense in the league, but the Jazz is one of the best defensive teams in the second half of the regular season. The Rockets have one of the best scorers in James Harden and one of the best point guards in the league in Chris Paul. The Jazz have a dynamic scorer in Donovan Mitchell and a defensive anchor in Rudy Gobert. The series will be close, but I think the offensive skill of the Rockets and the inconsistency of the Jazz the Rockets will win in 7.

(3) TrailBlazers vs (6) Thunder

Thunder win 4-2

The TrailBlazers and the Thunder both had first round exits in the playoffs last year. The Trail Blazers took a devastating loss in the regular season with the injury of Nurkic. This will cripple their chances of beating the Thunder, but they will win two with their all-star point guard Damian Lillard and players like CJ Mccollum. The Thunder will be lead Russell Westbrook and Paul George two of the best players in the NBA. The combination of George and Westbrook will lead the Thunder to a series win. They will also have help from Steven Adams a dominant big man.

(2) Nuggets vs (7) Spurs

Spurs win 4-2

The Nuggets are one of the best teams on paper in the NBA. Although they had one of the best records in the NBA they are very inexperienced in the playoffs and are facing a lot of veterans on the spurs. They will win two games with their talents and depth. The Spurs are lead by Demar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge two veterans. Even though Demar DeRozan has struggled in the playoffs the spotlight won’t be on him because the Spurs are a 7 seed. This is will be an upset with all the veterans the Spurs have and good teamwork they will beat the Nuggets.
