Paul Sperry took to Twitter to report that Comey confirmed under oath that the FBI paid for travel and other expenses for Christoper Steele the author of the anti-Trump dossier which was used to spy on the Trump campaign.
Here was his report from 2017
BREAKING: FBI picked up the tab for Steele dossier along with Hillary; FBI paid Steele’s travel and other expenses

He then said that Comey confirmed it
In his House testimony yesterday, former FBI director Comey confirmed my Tweet from over a year ago that the FBI did, in fact, compensate Steele: “[H]e was
reimbursed for expenses.” https://t.co/lOC3PoTrEU— Paul Sperry (@paulsperry_) December 8, 2018
Comey did confirm it according to a transcript released by House GOP Republicans
My recollection is that the FBI was not paying him, that the FBI had reimbursed him for some travel expenses and had raised the prospect that if there was fruitful further work, he could be paid for it. But my recollection is that he was not paid. These are the things I remember learning when I was Director. Could be wrong, but I think that’s what I was told.
